Confessions of a drowning heart (Vol. 9)

What if I asked you to choose to love me again...

Pleaded with you for one last chance, where we go all in

Not blindly,

Intentionally.

‎Hear me out...

‎What if we gave it one last chance?

Not another round of almost.

Not another season of guessing.

Not another beautiful beginning that leaves us bleeding at the end.

What if we gave it one real chance?

One that leaves room for difficult conversations,

for mistakes,

for healing,

for accountability.

One where we stop treating love

like something that will survive on chemistry alone.

What if we chose each other

not because we cannot bear to be apart,

but because we understand

what it means to stay?

‎If you ever choose to give in and love me,

‎Please love me the way you did the first time you chose me...‎

Intentionally.

With all of you.

With all your heart.

And this time, don't leave your body out of it.

Love me with your eyes.

Look at me like I am still a sight to behold even after the novelty has worn off.‎

Stare so hard that other people are uncomfortable around us‎

Stare so hard that they envy our love.

Look at me across a crowded room

and let me feel that your attention is not something I have to compete for.

Look at me with admiration.

With affection.

With the kind of certainty

that does not make me question

Whether I am beautiful enough to keep.

‎Let your eyes remind me that being chosen is not a one-time event.

That I do not have to earn your gaze

every morning I wake up.

Love me with your hands.

Hold me like there's no tomorrow...

Like you have nowhere else to be.

Hold me firmly enough to make me feel secure,

gently enough to remind me that I am safe.

Hold my heart like it's the most precious thing that makes you rich; like it's all your wealth..‎

Hold my feelings and emotions like a baby you love so much‎

Softly,

Gently

Selflessly

Lovingly...

When you hold my heart,

Please understand that you are holding something priceless.

Not because it has never been broken,

but because it has been broken

and still found the courage to love.

Hold my feelings like something sacred.

Not something to dismiss when inconvenient.

Not something to punish when misunderstood.

Handle my heart

with the tenderness of someone

who understands that trust is not demanded.

It is earned.

Protected.

And rebuilt,

one honest moment at a time.‎

Remembering that I am a delicate flower in most places and a warrior in others,

I break easy but love hard

I love fiercely and still need reassurance

‎Remembering that I have broken pieces,

Pieces that do not need you to become my saviour.

They simply need love, lots of hugs, patience, consistency, gentleness.

And the freedom to heal

without being made to feel

like healing is an inconvenience.

Love me with your mouth.

Not just with kisses that leave me breathless.

Give me words I can build a life around.

Honest conversations.

Difficult truths.

Kind words

Apologies that come with changed behaviour.

Tell me what hurts you.

Tell me what scares you.

Tell me when I have misunderstood you.

And please, let me do the same.

Remember that sometimes

my stubbornness is not a declaration of war.

Sometimes,

it is a frightened heart

trying to protect itself

because it has been carrying too much alone.

Look beyond the attitude.

Listen beneath the silence.

Do not assume that because I have become difficult to understand,

I have become impossible to love

Love me the way you did

when you first saw me broken

and chose to be gentle with me.

And then, love me even better.

Pray with me.

Speak life into me when my own words begin to fail me.

Remind me of who I am when disappointment makes me forget.

And when you speak about me

in rooms I have not entered,

Even if you are angry,

let your respect for me be as evident as your affection when I am around.

Love me with your ears.

Listen to the little things I say.

The stories I repeat.

The dreams I mention casually.

The things that excite me.

The things I pretend do not hurt.

‎Learn me.

Not so you can memorize my weaknesses and use them against me,

but so you can understand how to love me better.

Listen when I cry for help,

even when my words do not come out perfectly.

Listen when I tell you I am tired.

Listen when I say I am scared.

Listen when I tell you I love you.

And listen closely enough

to hear when I am asking,

in a hundred different ways, "Are we okay?"

Because sometimes,

all I need is to know

that I am not the only one

trying to keep us afloat.‎‎

Most of all, love me with your actions...

Because I have learned

that beautiful words can fill a room while leaving a heart empty.

So show me.

Prioritize me.

Be present.

Love me with all you have

Selflessly

Keep making that choice everyday...

Let your consistency become the answer to questions I have grown tired of asking

Do not make me decode your affection.

Do not make me investigate your intentions.

Let your love be something I experience,

not something I have to keep interpreting.‎

Do anything for me... everything...‎

Give me your honesty.

Your time.

Your effort.

Your consideration.

Give me you fully, completely, intentionally...

Give me the version of you

that is willing to build,

not just the version that knows how to begin.

And please,

do not let go of my hand the moment life becomes difficult.

Walk with me through the roughness.

Not because you must carry every burden for me,

but because I want to know

that I do not have to carry every burden alone.

Let me be soft with you.

Let me be a baby sometimes.

Let me come to you without a solution,

without a plan,

without the strength to explain why today has been so hard.

Let me be held

without feeling guilty for needing to be held.

And I promise to make room for you, too.

For your fears.

Your insecurities.

Your unfinished healing.

I want to know the man behind the strength.

The boy behind the bravado.

The parts of you that you hide

because you are afraid they might make you harder to love.

Let me see you.

Really see you.

And trust me enough

to let me love what I find.

I do not want a relationship

where only one of us is allowed to be human.

I want us to be a safe place for each other.

Two imperfect people

learning how to love without turning every wound into a weapon.

Two hearts that can disagree without threatening to abandon each other.

Two people who understand

that choosing love does not mean

choosing pain forever.

It means choosing honesty over pretending.

Effort over excuses.

Growth over pride.

It means knowing when to hold on,

when to listen,

when to apologize,

and when to give each other room to breathe.

It means choosing each other with open eyes.

Not blindly.

INTENTIONALLY.

And if you ever choose me again,

please give me the chance

to show you who I am beneath my scars.

Give me the chance to show you that the person I became while surviving my trauma

is not who I am.

There is tenderness in me.

There is patience.

There is generosity.

There is a kind of love in me that does not keep score every time it gives.

There is a woman in me

who wants to build,

to nurture,

to encourage,

to pray with you,

to celebrate you,

to stand beside you

when the world is not clapping.

There is a woman in me

who wants to make your life softer,

not because I have no needs of my own,

but because loving you

has never been only about what I can receive.

I want to give, too.

But I want to give in a place

where giving does not mean disappearing.

Where loving you

does not mean abandoning myself.

Where sacrifice is mutual,

where tenderness is returned,

where both of us can breathe.

So trust me enough to try.

Believe me enough to speak.

Open up to me.

No games.

No hidden truths.

No secrets that slowly poison the very thing we are trying to save.

Let us have the uncomfortable conversations

before silence turns them into resentment.

Let us tell the truth before fear writes its own version of the story.

Let me in.

And watch what happens

when two people stop fighting to protect themselves from each other

and start working to protect what they are building together.

Watch how much peace can grow when love is no longer a guessing game.

Watch how beautiful it can become when two hearts do not simply feel something for each other,

but take responsibility for what they feel.

And darling…I know love is not a promise

that we will never hurt each other.

We are human.

We will misunderstand.

We will have bad days.

We will sometimes fail to find the right words.

But perhaps love is the willingness

to return to the conversation.

To repair what we can.

To learn what we must.

To keep showing up

when the easy part is over.

If you decide to give in and love me again,

Please know that I do not want a perfect love.

I am want you to be willing to build an honest one.

A love where I do not have to beg for the bare minimum

while offering you the very best of me.

A love where desire has a home in commitment,

where tenderness has a home in respect,

where passion has a home in trust.

A love where I can be held by you, darling,

and know that when your arms open,

it is not because you are preparing to leave.

But because you are making room for me.

If I asked you to choose me again…

If I asked you to give us

one last chance…

Not to repeat the past,

but to build something better from what it taught us.

Not to promise blindly,

but to choose intentionally.

Not because we are afraid of losing each other,

but because we are finally willing

to learn how to love each other well.

If I promised to meet you halfway,

to listen,

to learn,

to grow,

to give you room to be human

while asking you to do the same for me…

If I told you

that I still see the good in us,

that I still believe there might be something worth saving,

that beneath all the hurt

there is a love I would be willing to nurture

if you were willing to nurture it with me…

Would you be courageous enough to choose to stay

Would you choose to learn me,

even on the days I am difficult to understand?

Would you choose to love me

when I am no longer just the woman

who makes your heart race,

but the woman who asks you

to be accountable for the heart you hold?

Would you give me the chance

to love you beyond the beautiful moments?

Beyond the dancing.

Beyond the kisses.

Beyond the nights when the whole world disappears

and it feels like there is only you and me.Would you choose me

in the ordinary? In the difficult? In the becoming?

I do not just want to be the woman you cannot keep your hands off.

I want to be the woman you cannot imagine building a life without.

I do not just want to be desired.

I want to be considered.

I do not just want to be held.

I want to be held on to.

And I do not just want to hear that you love me.

I want to live in a love that reminds me,

in a thousand little ways, that you do.

not just in the moments when loving me feels easy,

but in the moments when loving me requires intention.

To build something honest with you.

Something gentle.

Something brave.

Something that feels like home

to both of us.

If I asked you to love me like you meant to keep choosing me…

Willing to learn.

Willing to stay and do the work.

If I asked you to choose me again,

not blindly,

not out of loneliness,

not because you miss the way I make you feel…

But intentionally.

With your eyes open.

With your heart present.

With your hands ready to build.

With your actions ready to prove it.

I don't want to have to ask...

But I don't want to loose you either.
